On Friday, 28 June 2019, the representatives of the IFGR attended an annual seminar of gambling tax administrators in Telč at the invitation of director, Ing. Vytejček.
The IFGR’s presentation dealt primarily with the issues currently being addressed – raising the rate of gambling tax and taxing winnings of players – and new trends in gambling were presented to the gambling administrators.
Financial Administration representatives said they are currently investigating up to 300 entities, or rather illegal gambling operators, often from overseas countries, against whom they have taken procedural steps under the Tax Code. Unfortunately, with regard to tax confidentiality, they could not provide further details.
