The third Responsible Gambling Week is here! Don’t be afraid to ask for help.

The Responsible Gambling Week project is organizing its third edition from November 6th to November 12th. The goal of this week is to inform as many people as possible about how to keep gambling under control. Partners of the project, addiction centers, and experts are traditionally involved in the program. Through educational campaigns, webinars, and personal meetings, they work together to inspire the general public to adopt a more responsible approach to gambling and guide them on where to find help.

Responsible Gambling Week is an annual culmination and intensification of the educational part of the project, which falls under the Institute for the Regulation of Gambling. In cooperation with therapy centers, a program for players, both male and female, and their close ones is prepared. One of this year’s topics will be living with problem gamblers and treatment options. The program will include open house days at therapy centers, discussions, webinars, and even a lecture “Coaching Yourself” where acclaimed experts Marian Jelínek and Vít Schlesinger will provide practical tips on how to achieve inner contentment, work with emotions, and handle fear.

“The first two editions showed us how important it is to have the opportunity to convey information about responsible gaming to the general public. You never know when it might come in handy to know where your friend can turn for help or how you can guide them to set limits. We know that precisely these things are important for preventing problem gambling,” says the project manager for Responsible Gambling, Petra Šebo. “The goal of the third Responsible Gambling Week is to push this boundary even further. This year, we will focus on topics like living with problem gamblers and how to coach yourself and manage your emotions. We want to show that you can control your own life and that there are many safety nets you can pull. You can find all of them on our website,” she adds.

A Broad Network of Partners Offers Opportunities

Several partners of the Responsible Gambling project, including addiction centers, will participate in the November events and organize activities in their respective regions. Partners like Společnost Podané ruce, which has prepared a series of podcasts, and others like Prevent 99, Portimo, Modrý kříž, Sananim, Poradna pro nelátkové závislosti Kraje Vysočina, Laxus, Renadi, and more will join. Throughout the week, a helpline will be available at +420 777 477 877, provided by Společnost Podané ruce with financial support from the Responsible Gambling project.

The Responsible Gambling Week will target players and their close ones with a media campaign. This outreach will be conducted in close collaboration with the project’s main partners, which include Fortuna, Chance, Sazka, and Tipsport. An information and educational campaign will run throughout the week on Czech Television, Nova, Prima, sports channels, and other online and print media as well as on social networks.
